Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oils Recalled Due to Poisoning Risk

The packaging for the products violated the Poison Prevention Packaging Act and pose a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for Euqee Wintergreen Essential Oils due to a poisoning risk.

The commission determined the oils were a violation of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act because the essential oil contains methyl salicylate, which must be in child-resistant packaging, a requirement of the act.

The packaging for the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children, the commission said.

Consequently, 3,750 units were recalled on Friday, Jan. 2. Consumers who purchased the oils where they’re sold exclusively on Amazon can be issued a refund.
